A Marathon Reading -from 10:00 to 24:00 and from 100 personalities- of the whole book Mauthausen by the Greek author who was a political prisoner in this concentration camp and wrote down his experience afterwards (Die Freiheit kam im Mai, translated in German by Helena Stroumpaki). Maria Farantouri will sing songs set to poetry by Iakovos Kambanellis including The Ballad of Mauthausen by Mikis Theodorakis. The event is under the auspices of Karolos Papoulias (former President of Greece), Heinz Fischer (former President of Austria), Kardinal Christoph Schönborn (the Highest Priest of the Catholic Church in Austria), Bishop Michael Bünker (the Highest Pastor of the Evangelic Church in Austria) and Rabbi Schlomo Hofmeister (the Highest Rabbi of the Israeli Church in Austria).
